Welcome to our new site! We plan for this site to be a forum for thoughts and discussion on the issues facing Michigan. We will post regular blogs as part of this discussion and encourage your feedback. In the future we might even figure out how to do a podcast.
It's our hope you find this site informative, entertaining and helpful. Nick will bring the perspective of a lawyer and I will bring the perspective of an educator to the issues facing us as a state, region and nation. We both love this state and have a deep commitment to seeing it and our fellow Michiganders prosper and flourish. We also bring the unique perspective to these discussions of former candidates for office (and maybe future candidates) - there's nothing like seeing representative democracy from the inside to know where the fixes are needed.
Nick and I have been friends since we meet as high schools juniors at Michigan Youth In Government. In our senior year Nick served as Lt. Governor and I served as Governor of the conference. We forged a working relationship in the actual halls of the Capitol and have been close friends ever since. Our friendship was cemented when we both made the smart choice and attended MSU. In East Lansing we again served together in student government at ASMSU and were roommates. Many of the world's problems were solved in the living room of apartment 1-C of the Lilac Lawn Apartment Building. Those same discussions continue to this day and we want to include you in them. So, please check back often and engage in these discussions with us and hopefully our talks can lead to action to Fix the Mitten.
Looking forward to talking with you all soon - Nate
